An Environmental School
At Strathfield South we pride ourselves in being environmental. Concious of our environment, we run student led paper recycling programs, use rainwater collected in rainwater tanks to water our gardens and fields and teach environmental awareness in our curriculum. In 2009 solar panels were installed on our Office building.
Here are some ways you and your child can ‘go green’:
- minimise the amount of pre-packaged food in your child’s lunchbox e.g. chips, biscuits and muesli bars
- encourage walking and cycling to school with your child
- use recycled products such as brown paper bags instead of cling wrap or
- aluminium foil
- use recycled materials for covering school books
- discuss the environmental activities at school and try them at home.
